PTO Auction & Supper
The PTO Auction and BBQ supper was a huge success Friday night.  The PTO raised over $7500.  Your baskets were a hit.  Thanks for putting those together to support our PTO.  One item for the PTO this year was to begin our mural project outside of the main office.  The welcome addition will begin on November 28th.  Mr. Larry Hudson will be in our building starting on our Atlantic Ocean mural.  Please be aware that he will have paint and other items in the hallways.  You will need to maneuver your class around him carefully.
Items for Monday
A reminder that Mrs. Connie will need 3 fourth grade students and 3 fifth grade students for her brief nutrition education class.  This will take place on Monday morning, November 21st at 7:50 AM.  Please send three students from each grade level to the cafeteria at 7:50 AM to meet with Connie.

Also on Monday we will have a follow up walk thru audit with Tim Hinson from the SC School Boards Insurance Trust.  He is the same gentleman that did our audit last year.  We’ve taken many steps since his last visit to maintain safety within our building.  For example, we’ve added the no slip rugs under your classroom sinks, removed all curled and slippery rugs in your rooms, moved items from blocking emergency exit window in our classrooms, installed lights at the bus loop and front entryway of building, and highly encourage all staff to utilize step stools and ladders.

3rd-5th grade teachers, please let Ms. Cindy know when your grades are ready Monday.  They need to be completed prior to 12 p.m.  She will print and get interims in your boxes after lunch.

Hope you all can join us at the Christmas Party this year.  If you haven't let Ms. Cindy know, please do by Monday.
SPED Video
There are several names missing from the sign sheet for our SPED video that was shared last Wednesday.  Please view this video and sign the sheet in the main office (under the "shout out" board) by Tuesday before you leave.  We have one more video to view and it will come after Thanksgiving Break.
Holiday Shutdown
The Holiday Shutdown Procedures are below.  Be sure to check them off before you leave on Tuesday for Thanksgiving Break.

Monday and Tuesday are JEAN DAYS!!! Enjoy the Clemson and Carolina Tailgates next week!!

House Fire
On a sad note, two of our students (Gavin Medlock and Brody Medlock) lost their house yesterday to a devastating fire.  Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.  We will be contacting the family to see how we can help support them.
Feeling Thankful…
Most of the entries and information for the blog will be coming by email from Mrs. Graham while I’m on maternity leave.  I feel so confident that things will run smooth while I’m out because we have a wonderfully supportive staff.  I can’t tell you how much this means to me.

I came home Friday after the Auction with a car FULL of gifts for baby Folk.  I sat in the nursery on Saturday morning with tears in my eyes opening and reading every single kind word you had written.  My heart is full and I feel tremendously blessed to have each and every one of you in our life.  Simply…..Thank you!

If you need me over the next few weeks, I can be reached by phone or email.  I will send word as soon as things settle on Tuesday after baby is here.  Your thoughts and prayers have and will continue to be felt.

See you soon!

We had an excellent Veterans Day program today!  Thanks to everyone for all that you did to help prepare (you know who you are).  It was a team effort and we received so many compliments.

On Monday we will have special guests visiting our school.  Author, Tim Lowry will present to the 3rd-5th graders at 8:00-9:00 and Michael Finkela will present to the PK-2nd graders from 9:15-10:15.  Please bring your classes to the multipurpose room at your designated time.

One of the annual requirements each school year is bus evacuation training with all students.  Our goal is to quickly and efficiently fulfill this requirement so students know what they need to do in the case of an emergency while on a school bus.  PGE classes will be participating in a bus evacuation training on Wednesday, November 16th. See the schedule below.  Please be prompt to the bus loop so we can stay on schedule.

On Thursday be prepared to first have an Earthquake drill and immediately following it will be a Fire Drill.  In Leadership we discussed utilizing the road out front when moving to the field.

The Sunshine Committee has planned for some fun events coming up.  I have added them to the Master Calendar.  Don't forget to sign up for the Clemson/Carolina Tailgate days.  You'll also find Secret Santa forms in your boxes on Monday.  Thank you to this committee for putting together and planning events where we can spend time enjoying each other (and food and gifts).

All grade/content level Auction baskets are due this coming Wednesday.  Please bring them to the main office to be tagged for the Auction.  I can tell you the PTO is very appreciative of your support of this huge fundraiser.  I'm hoping many of you are able to come Friday night for dinner and the Auction.  The supper will begin at 5:30 and the auction will start at 7 p.m.  If you didn't get to place an order for a Shealy's BBQ plate, you can still bring a check to Ms. Cindy on Monday morning.

Congratulations to the following teachers who were drawn from our "Shout Out" basket:  Amy Milstead, Alex Pruitt, Dona Pitts, Paul Winningham, Marilyn Rawls, Maria Thompson, Robbie Harris, Jaime Stuck, Alice Boozer, and Katie Walters.  You will have a "surcie" in your boxes on Monday.

Happy Friday All!!!
